PHILLIPS, Frank A. - Age 83, of Burton, died March 10, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Make A Wish Foundation. Frank was born July 24, 1930 in Flint, the son of Albert and Gertrude (Gouin) Phillips. He was schooled at McKinley Junior High and Central High School, Flint. He held a degree in Theatre Management and Projection and Associated Area. Active in Theatre Management in the late forties and early fifties, managing one of Flint's largest neighborhood theatres, The Nortown. Frank was a Flint area resident all of his life. He retired from General Motors Ternstedt Plant Protection in 1989 after 33 years. Frank was also employed at the Flint Institute of Arts and Hollywood Cinemas, where he was a Projectionist. Frank was a life member of The Apostolate of St. Jude Thaddeus, remembered in lifetime Masses by the Society of the Devine Savior and The Passionists. Frank was a long time member of the Indiana Recording Club, Genesys Hospice and Bay Valley Community Hospice. A lover of music of many types and known for his passion for good coffee. He leaves behind longtime friends, Ed Burdick, Sally Case, Steve Robinson, his F.I.A and Hollywood Cinema families and many other friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
