MALLARD, Fred William - Age 91, of Corunna, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM, Monday July 31, 2023 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 2680 E. M21, Corunna, MI 48817. Pastor Jason Georges will officiate. Burial will take place 2:30 PM, Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063, Fenton Road, Grand Blanc and again on Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Immanuel Baptist Church.

Fred was born on January 30, 1932 in Dyersburg, Tennessee the son of Martin and Pearl (Winters) Mallard. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1954. Fred and Marcella Joslin were united in marriage on March 10, 1956 in Hernandez, Mississippi. He worked as an inspector for GM for 30 years before his retirement in 1980. Fred was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord for 55 years and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and loved to tell stories to his grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, leather work and buying and fixing up campers and other items he could fix to resell.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Marcella Mallard; children, Marty Mallard, Mary Camp, Glenn (Shirley) Mallard and Judy (Tim) Terry; 7 grandchildren, Mitch, Alisha, Christopher (Katy), Rachel, Lauren (Ash), Shelby (Josh) and Katelyn (Garrett); 10 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kane, Collin, Conner, Malyia, Jaylee, Hudson, Caroline, Marcella, and Amelia; siblings, Oralee (Jerry) Powell, Elese (David) Maloy and Paul Mallard; and several nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dorothy Partin, Estelle Hobbs and Arlen Mallard; and son-in-law, Ricky Camp. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
