SHOUSE, Fred - Age 94, of Linden, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed below Fred's obituary here). Pastor Martin Shouse officiating. Burial immediately following in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 PM and Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Linden Free Methodist Church.
Fred was born August 9, 1930 in Booneville, KY, the son of Harlan and Hazel (Estep) Shouse. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He married Virginia Page Stacy June 13, 1958 in Holly. He had resided in the Linden area for most of his life. Fred retired from McDonald Dairy after many years of service; he had also been employed by Close Chevrolet in Linden. He was a member of Linden Free Methodist Church. He was a devout Christian and attended church regularly until his later years. He was a very generous and loving many. Fred was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, never missing a game. His mind was sharp to the end, he remembered everything.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia; sisters, Lori Shouse Turner, Edith Shouse Gabbard, Ruby Shouse Rice and Shirley (James) Shouse Osborne; brothers, Virgil Shouse, Bob (Charlotte) Shouse and Don Shouse; and numerous nieces and nephews, who loved him so much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Hazel Shouse; brothers, Jack, James and Kenny Shouse; brothers-in-law, James Gabbard and Steve Rice; sister-in-law, Haney Shouse. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
