Gay Ann "Annie" McCann, age 87 and lifelong resident of Flint, with her faith in the Lord, passed away on February 26, 2024 under the care of hospice. A funeral will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, March 1, 2024 at the funeral home and from 10:30 AM Saturday until the time of service. Private burial will take place on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Flint Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gay Ann to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.donate,cancer.org).
Gay Ann was born on August 23, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Frederick Patrick and Cora Marie (McDonald) Drouin. She graduated from St. Michaels Catholic School and married John D. McCann on May 12, 1956 in Flint, Michigan. She retired from the Flint Board of Education in 1991 after 20 years as a Teacher's Aide. Annie was a talented artist who had a passion for painting in addition to enjoying a good practical joke, also enjoyed time at the casino, the camaraderie with retirees of Local 659 and she had an "udderly" ridiculous collection of cows.
She is survived by husband of 67 years, John. Sons, Kevin J. (Jennifer) McCann of Flint; Matthew D. (Christine) McCann of Essexville; Michael P. (Lori) McCann of Jamestown, NC. 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Siblings, Mina (Glenn) Davison of Clio; Terry (Judy) Drouin of Mt. Morris; Brenda Drouin-Myers of Grand Blanc. Daughter-In-Law, Ruth Ann McCann. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Mrs. McCann was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Scott J. McCann and Mitchell P. McCann; 2 grandchildren; dearest friend, Vera Curnow.
