Genevieve "Jean" Mary Drapala

DRAPALA, Genevieve "Jean" - age 90, of Fenton, died January 7, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:0 AM Friday, January 17, 2025 at St. Rita Catholic Church. 309 E. Maple St., Holly, MI 48442 with Rev. Fr. David Blazek celebrant. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 6-8 PM Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430 where a rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM. Visitation will also be held from 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM Friday at the church. Jean was born April 24, 1934 in Detroit, the daughter of John and Mary (Gurska) Sawka. She was an active parishioner at the former St. Dustan Catholic Church in Garden City where she was active in the Altar Society. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: four children, John (Sheila), Mark (Sharon), Lori Kunkel, and Rick; grandchildren, Kara (Daniel), Zachary, Emily (Justin), Evan (Elizabeth), Jillian (fiancé, Duggan), Jacob, Thaddeus (Isabella), Halle (fiancé, Zachary) and Noah; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Julian, and Simon.
