George Pershing Carlson, Jr.

Carlson, George Pershing, Jr. - Age 84, of Flint, passed away April 10, 2026. No services will be held and in lieu of flowers; contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org) in George's memory. George was born October 23, 1941, in Grand Blanc, Michigan, the son of George and Lyla (Humphrey) Carlson, Sr. George graduated from Grand Blanc Highs School and worked as a hairdresser for over 60 years. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and rescuing animals. George also loved to help others and was lovingly referred to as "Grandpa" by many of his neighbors. George is survived by his sister, Marlene (Carlson) Robinson; many nieces and nephews' best friend, Mary Hurt; dear friends, Brian Dufour and Monica Miller. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Inez Wilson, Lyla Buys, and Sharron Uptigrove; brother, Robert Carlson.
