George was born on November 7, 1945 in Goodrich, Michigan to the late Michael & Clara (Sellers) Nemes. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School, class of 1963. While in high school, he played football and was proud to have boxed with Golden Gloves. After graduation, George enlisted in the US Army, where he quickly rose through the ranks and became a Sergeant. He married Louellen Wykes in Gaines, MI at Gaines Methodist Church on December 14, 1969. They were happily married for 57 years and raised two beautiful daughters, Christina and Juliann. George was employed with General Motors Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant for 30 years before retiring in 1999. Along side his career at General Motors he raised beef cattle for 45+ years on the family farm. This was something he was incredibly proud of and required a lot of hard manual labor. As one might suspect he loved tractors, especially John Deere and Gravley Lawn Mowers. In his early years he played volleyball and softball. George loved westerns, playing card games, and always had a faithful dog companion. Above all his fondest memories were those spent with his family enjoying the holidays, cookouts and get-together's.

He is survived by his wife, Louellen Nemes; two daughters, Christina (Heath) Lorincz and Juliann (Mike) Pedrin; grandchildren, Emma & Devlin Lorincz and Clara, Hank and Harry Henry and his sister, Alice (Roger) Redick. George is further survived by several special nieces and nephews and many other dear family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his sister, Wanda Crews; brother in-law, Earl Crews, and nephew, Mike Redick.
