George Ralph Brown

Brown, George Ralph - Age 89, of Fenton, died June 11, 2026. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday June 16, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, Michigan 48430, Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday June 15, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton; and 10 AM until the time of the Mass at 11 AM at the church on Tuesday, June 16. Those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton.

George was born August 31, 1936 in New Madrid, Missouri the son of George and Helen Brown. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School. He married Joan Howell on September 10, 1955 in Flint; she preceded him in death August 17, 2022. He retired from General Motors with many years of service. He was a sheet metal expert and General Motors sent him many places because of this. George was an excellent carpenter. He was a mechanic and adept at home remodeling. He could do everything.

Surviving are: son, Steven Brown; brother, Michael Brown; sisters-in-law, Tina Fields, and Jeanine Stem; brothers-in-law, Terry (Linda) Howell, Ernest (Helen) Howell; many nieces and nephews; and companion, Diane VerVaecke. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Bill, Danny and Jerry; and his daughter Brenda Ann Brown.
