George Michael Stoica Sr.

George Michael Stoica Sr., of Swartz Creek, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Springvale of Swartz Creek. He was 76 years old.

Born May 15, 1949, in Gary, Indiana, he was the son of George and Inez Christine (Bryant) Stoica. George retired from GM-Buick Motors Division in the skilled trades, where he worked as a machine repairman machinist. He was the All-American outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and sailing. A dedicated father, he enjoyed his children’s various activities whether it was his children’s games, meets and sporting events, or school concerts and other events.

George is survived by his five children; Christina Kilburn (Levi), Christopher Stoica (Staci), Shawn Stoica, George Michael Stoica Jr. (Lisa) and Ted “Gator” Stoica; brother Ted Stoica (Debbie); eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents George and Inez Stoica, his beloved wife Vicki Lynn (Murdock) Stoica and brothers Danny Stoica and Johnny Stoica.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11:00 am at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473, with Pastor Joshua Arrand officiating. Interment will follow at Montrose Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home as well as on Thursday from 10:00am until time of the service.
