Georgia Ruth (Brooks) Williamson - Age 95, of Fenton, formerly of Waterford, passed away on April 3, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Tom Hampton will officiate. The service will be broadcast live and may be viewed below Georgia's obituary. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.
Georgia was born on July 31, 1930, in Jellico, Tennessee, the daughter of Joseph and Martha Margaret (Wilson) Garnett. She married Franklin Brooks in Pontiac on August 21, 1948. Frank preceded her in death on July 17, 1992. She later married Allen Williamson in Waterford on May 10, 2003, and he passed away on May 8, 2022.
Georgia worked for many years as a Bank Teller at Community National Bank in Waterford before retiring. She later volunteered with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama. A longtime member of Waterford Community Church, Georgia was known for her strong faith, warm smile, and generous spirit. She took great pride in her home and was a wonderful cook who loved preparing meals for family and friends.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce (Jean) Brooks of Arizona, Deborah (Rick) Bunton of Fenton, Teresa (Dave) Frizzell of Clarkston, and Tracy (Tammy) Brooks of Farmington Hills; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Farmer of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Martha Garnett; both of her husbands, Frank Brooks and Allen Williamson; and nine siblings.
