Grand Blanc

GIACALONE, Georgia Lee (Burley) - Age, 83, of Grand Blanc, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026. A celebration of Georgia's life will be announced at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to The Flint Institute of Arts, 1120 E. Kearsley St., Flint, MI 48503 or Adopt-A-Pet, 13575 Fenton Road, Fenton, MI 48430.

Georgia was born September 13, 1942 in Flint, the daughter of James Harold and Harriett Georgia (Clark) Burley. She was a 1959 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School. She had resided in Grand Blanc for the past 50 years coming from Flint. She worked as a potter with the Flint Institute of Arts. She was a member of the Fenton Beautification Committee, Friends of the Fenton Library, and The Tuesday Girl's. Georgia had a special gift not only in her beautiful pottery, which reflected her creativity and care, but in the way she shaped the lives of those around her. Her hands created art, but her heart created connection. She found happiness in small joys and simple pleasures. She cherished her beloved dog, Harry, who brought her constant companionship and happiness.

Above all, Georgia loved her two daughters, Angela Giacalone Blank (Don Blank) and Jill Giacalone (Jeremy Turpen) and unofficial 3rd daughter, Kristine Farrehi, with a fierce and devoted heart. Her greatest pride and joy were her six wonderful grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Savannah Duplanty (Ernie Aughenbaugh), Dallas Blank, Emma Duplanty (Tearon Jamieson), Dawson Blank, Annabella Blank (Enio Leone), Lilia Jarvis, Gianna Jamieson and Knox Blank, her best friend and sister-in-law, Maria Pearce, goddaughter, Brandi Behrenwall, and her very special friends at F.I.A. Each of them carried a special place in her heart.

She treasured every laugh, every milestone, every hug, every story, and every moment of watching them grow. She made their childhoods magical, filling their lives with love, wonder, joy, and memories they

will carry forever.

She embodied a balance few can achieve: strength without harshness, independence without distance, and elegance without effort. She wanted to be remembered as a friend to all, and she truly lived that everyday. Her kindness, curiosity, and warmth drew people to her and left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Harriett Burley, grandparents, formerly husband, Tony Giacalone, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Dorothy Giacalone; and special brother-in-law, Ricky Pearce. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Mundy Township Police Department, Fire Department, and Emergency Staff for their services given to Georgia. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
