Gerald Lee AUSTIN

AUSTIN, Gerald Lee - Age 72, of Birch Run, died Sunday, April 20, 2014. A Burial Service will be held 9:30 AM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, 10995 Canada Rd, Birch Run. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the family. Gerald was born April 18, 1942 in Flint the son of Robert Andrew and Marie Elizabeth (Springer) Austin. He was a 1960 graduate of St. Michael Catholic High School in Flint. He retired from Burlington Coat Factory as a Department Manager. He had resided in Birch Run for the past 40 years coming from Grand Blanc. Gerald enjoyed fishing and playing Pinuckle. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Wellsprings Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth. Surviving are: daughters, Stephanie Austin and husband David Vargas of Chicago, IL and Jen Austin of Birch Run; 2 grandchildren, Julissa and Jaden; sister, Linda Moore and husband Robert of Swartz Creek; best friend, Phil Idalski and his family; and several nieces and nephews.
