BURKE, Gerald J. "Jerry" age 93, of Fenton, died Friday, June 1, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Interment will be held 9 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a scripture service will be held 7 PM Sunday evening. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Monday at the church. Jerry was born January 25, 1925 in Detroit, the son of Harry and Viola (LaClare) Burke. He was a Journeyman Die Maker and retired as a Purchasing Agent from Ford Motor Company in 1980. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service during World War II. He had many hobbies and received blue ribbons and other awards for oil paintings, woodworking, bridge, golf, sailing and singing. He served on the Board of Directors for several organizations including the Barbershoppers during his 38 years of retirement. He is survived by: seven children, Frances (Jerry) Maddock, Patricia (Phil) Tabor, Mary (Don Pollie) Burke, Michael (Debbie Clement) Burke, Barbara (Tim) Lambitz, Thomas (Linda Griggs) Burke; and Ellen Burke; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Wainwright. Jerry was preceded in death by: his wife of 66 years, Anne (Sporer) Burke in 2013; and his brother, Robert Burke. Tributes may be share at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
