Engstrom, Gerald E. - Age 90, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on August 31, 2026 at the Oaks of Woodfield. In accordance with Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church 7234 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439 with Pastor Nathan Allen officiating. The family will receive guests at the church at 10 AM until the time of the service. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jerry to the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.

Jerry was born on May 25, 1936 in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Mary (Johnson) Engstrom. He graduated from Mandeville High School and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.

Jerry married Jane M. Alford on July 26, 1969. He worked for over 45 years at Delphi Automotive before retiring in 2001. He was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. Jerry found his greatest joy in the people he loved. He cherished every moment with his family, especially talking about his kids and grandkids to anyone who would listen. Jerry loved playing cards with his friends at the Legion, and treasured the friendships that meant so much to him. And, of course Jerry was always ready to cheer on his beloved Detroit Tigers and U of M Wolverines! his family and friends and the simple moments of life were what made him happiest - and those are memories that will be treasured forever.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 57 years, Jane; children, David Engstrom of Lewiston, Craig Engstrom of Grand Blanc, Jill (Casey) Kondel of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, David (Jessica) Engstrom, Jr., Nicholas (Chelsea) Engstrom, Peyton Engstrom, Hunter Engstrom, Taylor Kondel, Sadie Kondel, Sloan Kondel; siblings, Roger Engstrom, Richard Engstrom, Diane (Peter) Verros; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Mary (Johnson) Engstrom; brother, Lawrence Engstrom; daughter-in-law, Terri Engstrom.
