Gerald Lanning

LANNING, Gerald Lee - Age 84, of Fenton, died Monday, February 20, 2017. Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Wednesday; and 12 PM until time of service Thursday.. Gerald was born December 12, 1932 in Linden, the son of Lee Royal and Esther Marie (Morey) Lanning. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy proudly serving from 1952-1956 during the Korean war, ranking as IC 3rd class and earning 5 medals. Gerald worked at General Motors for 30 years. He was a member of the Fenton Moose Lodge. Gerald loved golfing, bowling, fishing, and hunting; but most of all, he loved being around his family. Surviving are: his wife, Maria; children, Ricky (Annette) Lanning, Shelly (Paul) Johnson; grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, Kara; great-grandson, Jarrett; step-daughters, Mary McCollom, Jacqueline Zaiser, Christina (Chris) Neuville.
