Glen J. PIECZYNSKI

PIECZYNSKI, Glen - Age 71, of Linden, died October 5, 2012 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-9 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden with a Rosary at 5 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. John GIFT Campaign. Glen was born March 28, 1941 in Posen, MI, the son of John and Martha (Purol) Pieczynski. He was a 1960 graduate of Posen High School. Glen went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and a Masters of Science from Eastern Michigan University. He was married to Judy Rapson at St. John Catholic Church in Fenton. Glen taught math, science and industrial arts for 12 years at Atherton Middle School. He then purchased Linden True Value Hardware, which he owned and operated with his wife for 32 years. Glen loved being active in the community. He was Director of Fenton State Bank and its holding company Fentura Financial for 10 years, served as Chairman of the Board of Shiawassee Shores Retirement Park for seven years, was a member of Linden Kiwanis since 1977. He also served as an usher at St. John Church, was a past member of Fenton Jaycees, Linden ZBA, Linden Planning Commission and St. John Education Commission. He has recently joined the Knights of Columbus and was looking forward to being an active member. Surviving are: wife, Judy; son, Tim (Julia); daughter, Brittney; grandson, Conrad; sisters, Irene McGowan, Clara (John) Corso; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Toby McGowan; sister-in-law, Mary Jankowski; several aunts and uncles.
