Slater, Glen R. - Age 82, Flint, died March 24, 2013 at Genesys Hospice of Goodrich. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00PM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Rd., Grand Blanc. Father Mike Kuchar celebrant. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held 1:00PM until time of mass at the church. Funeral arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice Center's activities room . Glen was born September 20, 1930 in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Alfred A. and Ada A. (Nichols) Slater. Glen served his country in the Army during the Korean War . He retired from General Motors. Surviving are: wife Joyce Slater of Flint; children, Patricia (Thad) Cook, Glen M. (Susan), Joseph (Ginger), Douglas (Patricia) and Margaret Manser; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. He leaves a large loving family and was also preceded in death by his grandson Thad Anthony.
