Glenda Fay (Moore) Koteles, age 78, of Swartz Creek, went home to be with Jesus on May 31, 2026.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, and from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Glenda was born on March 13, 1948, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to the late Joseph Moore and Pauline (Dudley) Moore, who later remarried and became Pauline Gebhardt after Joseph's death. She spent most of her life in Flint before making her home in Swartz Creek with her daughter for the last nine years.
Glenda worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist and secretary. She enjoyed dancing, singing, watching movies, and spending time with family. She especially loved crocheting clothing items and blankets for her family. She also used her talents to make hats for cancer patients, bringing comfort and kindness to others. Glenda had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, and enjoyed having a good time with the people she cared about.
Her grandchildren were the love of her life, and she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on at sporting events, school activities, and other special moments. In her younger years, Glenda taught Sunday School and was involved in Tract Ministries. She was a Christian and looked forward to the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Glenda is survived by her children, Jason (Emily) Koteles and Ranae (Robert) Hendricks; grandchildren Jessica Koteles (Dylan Sayre), Alexis (Dakota) Preston, Justin Koteles, Ethan Koteles, Natalee Koteles, Jenna Koteles, Victoria Hendricks, Tristan Hendricks, and Felicia Freeland; great grandson Lincoln Preston; brother Duncan (Pam) Moore; and nieces Amber Dombrowski and Ashleigh Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Steven Koteles; her stepfather, Fred Gebhardt; and her great grandson, Hudson Preston.
While her family grieves her loss and will miss her deeply, they find peace in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is now with the Lord. The memories she leaves behind will be cherished, and her love, laughter, and presence will never be forgotten.
