Gregory Karl Holleman, age 53, of Swartz Creek, known affectionately as Greg or by his nicknames "MF" or "Peanut," passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at McLaren Flint. A memorial service will be held 6PM Monday September 8 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 12PM - 6PM on Monday September 8 at the funeral home. Greg was born on September 15, 1971, in Flint, Michigan the son of Bonnie Holleman and Tom Holleman. Greg was a devoted husband, son, brother, and a friend to many. Greg's professional life was marked by a dedication to his work as a Millwright for Aramark, where he was a proud member of UAW Local 598. He was also a lifelong learner, having graduated from Bendle High School in 1990 and was currently pursuing an associate degree in mechanical engineering at Mott Community College. Throughout his career, he explored various opportunities, living and working in states such as Georgia and Montana before ultimately returning to Michigan.
Known for his smartass humor and a genuine nature, Greg had an exceptional ability to make those around him laugh. His caring spirit was evident in the way he gave selflessly to others, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His interests were as diverse as his personality; he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and tinkering in his garage. A die-hard fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, Greg found joy in sports and music, particularly Heavy Metal. He also cherished his time spent traveling, especially his visits to Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel's golf course, as well as helping on his grandparents' farm in Missouri during his youth. He was an avid Star Wars enthusiast, a passion that endeared him to many.
Greg's legacy continues through his wife, Sheley Holleman; his father, Tom (Lynn) Holleman; his brother, Ken (Karen) Holleman; his nephews, Josh (Julia) Holleman and Matthew (Delia) Holleman, Justin Ewka, Travis Ewka, Brandon Ewka, Aiden Ewka, Dakota Remington, Chase Remington, Ryan Malone; his nieces, Krystle Holleman, Heather Remington and Rylee Remington; step sibling, Mark (Nancy) Malone, Mike (Fran) Malone, Paul (Tammie) Malone, Patricia Sturgis; great nephew, Zachariah Holleman; his aunt, Judy Pidgeon; his uncle, Marion (Jackie) Gibson; and his beloved pets, cats Mazikeen, Lucifer, Raven, and dogs Jedi and Rebel, along with numerous cousins, friends, and fur nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Holleman; his brother, Darnell Holleman; and multiple aunts and uncles, including Billie Holloway, John Pidgeon, Jimmy Gibson, Jean Ball, Jerry Hutton, Donnie Foutch, Donald Gibson, Mary Davis, and Artie Gibson; and cousins, Johnny Pidgeon, Linda Holloway, David Ball, Lynyrd Brooks; He also mourned the loss of dogs Casa, Chilee Pepper, Cabo Wabo, and Cinco, as well as his cat, Radar.
