Harlan Wesley RAYMOND

RAYMOND, Harlan Wesley Age 90, of Durand, formerly of Lennon, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center. Mr. Raymond was born February 13, 1924 in Beaverton, MI, the son of Wesley and Margaret (Dundas) Raymond. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served from WWII 1943 to 1953 as a Tech Sergeant. Mr. Raymond married Madeline Nelson in 1946 until 1972 and she preceded him in death in May of 2000. He then married Geri Ryan of Flint on February 13, 1993. Geri Retired from A.C. and she preceded him in death in January of 2000. He was a self-employed plastering contractor from 1955 to 1969, Plant Manager of Lennon Manufacturing from 1975 to 1980 and retired from Flint Real Estate in 1993 after 13 year of employment. He was a life member of the Swartz Creek VFW Post 3720 having served as Post Commander four times. He formed the original Honor Guard of Swartz Creek VFW Post 3270, the Swartz Creek Am Vets Post 3270, and the Military Order of the C.O.O.T.I.E. He was a member of the Owosso Eagles for 30 years; a life member of the Disabled Am Vets, and a life member of the Military Order of the C.O.O.T.I.E. Mr. Raymond is survived by: daughters, Pam Collar of Clio, Debra Love of Durand, Judy Anderson and husband Brian of Mancos, CO; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Swartz Creek VFW Post 3720 Honor Guard or the City of Durand/Durand Veterans Memorial Park 215 W. Clinton Durand, MI 48429 in memory of Harlan W.
