McDOWELL, Harold John "Jack" - Age 86, of Fenton, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton (The Mass will be live streamed and can be viewed via Harold's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the Mass.
Jack was born January 3, 1939 in Flint, the son of Harold John, Sr. and Hannah (Wright) McDowell. He was a 1957 graduate of Flint Central High School; and received an Association Degree in Labor Studies from Mott Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1997 from GM Buick Motors as a Experimental Test Mechanic. Jack was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Redeemer. He also was a very active member of the U.A.W. Local 599. He enjoyed taking pictures, music and dancing especially the "Jitterbug". He was an avid Michigan Football fan.
Surviving are: his children, Andrew (Michelle) McDowell of Laingsburg, Thomas McDowell of Fenton and Sarah (Stephen) Salerno of Northville; grandchildren, Andrew, Katlyn (Joe), Nicolle (Collin), Connor (Cassie) Liam, Hannah-Marie (Ben), Tabitha, Quinn, Keira, Anthony and Marcus; great grandchildren, Kaiden, Solstice, Forrest, Lafayette, Miles and Atlas; sister, Jolene McDowell of Texas; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Harold and Hannah McDowell; and sister, Sharon Davis. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
