Harold "Ray" Phillips

PHILLIPS, Harold "Ray" - Age 86, of Fenton, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Chapel of Holy Innocents at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton (The Mass will be live streamed and can be viewed below Ray's obituary here). Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 4-8 PM and at the chapel at church Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. A scripture service will be held at funeral home Friday at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Ray was born on August 24, 1939 and died Monday, August 25, 2025, he had just turned 86. He entered the Air Force as a communications repairman working on radio's in jets during the Cuban Missle Crisis. Upon leaving the service, he went to school to become a Land Surveyor, a job he enjoyed for 40 years. On September 7, 1985 he married Gracie and immediately inherited his children: Pamela Graham of Lapeer, Christine Stewart of Kentucky, Karen (Terry) Courtney of Missouri, and Jay (Nancy) Fuller of Oklahoma. He also has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, who all adored him. Also, best friend George (Pierrette) LaMarche. He was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Fenton and a member of the Fenton Knights of Columbus Council #7418, and the Fenton Lions Club. he was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Zora Pearl; his wife, Gracie; son-in-law, Doug Graham; and grandson, Jeremy Timbs.
