Harold was born on November 27, 1951, in Lansing, Michigan to the late Robert & Clementine (Bryant) Ryan. He first attended Allen Street Elementary in Lansing, and his family eventually moved to Flint where he was enrolled in Martin Elementary School and then Holmes Elementary School before graduating from Northwestern High School, class of 1969. Harold then furthered his education at Lansing Community College. Harold's first major job was with Oldsmobile in Lansing. Up on leaving Oldsmobile, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marines Corp. and served 7 years of which was during the Vietnam conflict. Harold and Linda were joined in marriage by Pastor Wheeler in Flint, Michigan on December 26, 1998. Together they enjoyed many travels and adventures. A few to mention are, The Detroit Princess Riverboat, Genitti's Hole-in-the-wall, California visiting family, Mackinac Island and their favorite past-time....fishing on the dock. He enjoyed music, watching sports and TV game shows like Family Feud. Harold was the life of the party; in his younger days he was also a DJ. He had a magnetic smile and genuine happiness about himself that affected everyone around him. Harold will be dearly missed as a friend to many, a loving husband to his wife, Linda. And as a nurturing father to his children.

Harold kept his lawn meticulously tidy and in earlier years he grew a vegetable garden. He lived for the warm summer days where he would grill a good barbecue dinner. Harold had exceptionally good taste in men's fashion and owned many fine suits throughout his life. Above all he was a man of strong faith, when he was only a child he dedicated his life to Christ. For many years he was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church and most recently he attended New Haven Baptist Church.
