Harold Simerson

SIMERSON, Harold - Age 91, of Davison, went to be with his Lord and wife of 67 years, Ilene, Monday, October 20, 2014. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 24, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd, Flint. Pastor Ernest Davis officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral Home Thursday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. Harold was born January 4, 1923 in Hoxeyville the son of Fredric and Christina (Brown) Simerson. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He married Ilene O. Jones October 30, 1942 and she preceded him in death October 14, 2009. Harold retired from GM Metal Fab after 33 years of service. He was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle Church and a former member of Atherton United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the U.A.W. Local 659. Surviving are: 4 daughters, Judith Fromwiller of Flint, Jean Shafer of Davison, JoAnn (Donald) Snider of Flint, and Peggy (Russell) Sparks of Georgia; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter; brother, William Simerson of Burton; sister, Marjorie Galvanek of Cadillac; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Glenn, and Edward Simerson; and sister, Beulah Jones.
