KEENE, Harry W. -- Age 89, of Swartz Creek died November 5, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday November 9 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday, and 2-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Keene was born April 23, 1923 in Woodman, KY, the son of Mack and Mary (Horn) Keene. He married Fonda Lee Brown on January 31, 1947 in Pikeville, KY; she preceded him in death on January 5, 2012. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. He retired from Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing in 1983. He was a member of Grand Blanc Lodge #571 F & A.M. Surviving are two sons, Larry Keene (Gale), William Robert Keene (Marianne), all of Swartz Creek; 4 grandchildren, William Keene (Elizabeth Wallace) of Swartz Creek, Melissa Clark (Jeffrey) of Swartz Creek, Colleen Day (Tom) of Pinedale, WY, Ryan Keene of Swartz Creek; 5 great-grandchildren, Alexander Clark, Shelton Keene, Spenser Keene, Tommy Day, Delaney Day; several nieces and nephews.
