Hazel Shan HOLIFIELD

Holifield, Hazel Shan - Age 93, of Gaines., died Tuesday June 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 7, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Chaplain Goodman Cox, officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 11:00AM until time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society . Mrs. Holifield was born September 21, 1919 in Piggott AR, the daughter of the late James W. and Ada M. (Carmon) McLeskey. She married Ulyss A. Holifield in Arkansas February 4, 1938, he preceded her death in 1995. Hazel loved quilting , trips to the casino and spending time with her family and friends. and worked for Kelly Younger Interior Designs and Smith Bridgmans for many years. Surviving are: daughters; Lana Shan (Lonnie) McMillian of Lennon, Karen Kay Bunker of Swartz Creek, Teresa Renee Holifield of Swartz Creek; granddaughter, Kelly Shan (Brian) Bell of South Lyon; great-grandsons Blake Shan and Brandon Brian Bell; niece, Sandy (Jan) Versteeg of Davison; nephew, James (Shirley) Toombs of FL; nephew Donald Rickard; nephew Ronald Richard; nephew Jeff McMillan; nephew Michael Holifield and Niece Robin Holifield and many great-nieces and nephews. Preceded also in death by her son Lance Holifield, sister Nova Ellen (James) Toombs, Sister Nola (Henry) Watson, and brother Shelly McLeskey, and nephew Monte Ray (Brenda) Rickard.
