Helen Mae Brown, of Fenton, longtime resident of Linden, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, with her family at her side. She was 92 years old.

Born March, 6, 1934, in Port Huron, she was the daughter of Raymond and Eleanor (Bailey) Smith. She was a Priesthood Member of the Community of Christ Church in Flint, where she was an active volunteer teaching Sunday school, VBS, working on the meal committee. Church and her faith were an important part of her life and she instilled this same love for Jesus in her children and grandchildren. Helen was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother as well as helped run her husband’s auto supply business until their retirement. She grew up on a farm and continued through her life to enjoy baking and gardening.

Helen is survived by her children; Richard Brown (Deanna), Nathan Brown (Kathy), Carolyn Bacon (Kim), Sandra Sivyer (Pat) and Tamara Hartt (Larry); daughter in law Tammy Brown; son in law Jim Swain; grandchildren Jenifer Salter, Brandon Brown, Alicia Tennis (Nate), Caitlin Holdorf (Brian), Patrick Sivyer (Katie), Bridget Bowker (Robert), Brian Swain (Barbie Jo), Carol Ann Land (Rick), Sarah Swain-Musser (Cody), Jeffrey Brown (Hannah), Shyanne Haartt and Joshua Hartt; twenty one great grandchildren; one sister Jeanne McVay (Dick) and one brother David Smith (Karyn); as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family member and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband Richard McCue; her second husband E. Bruce Brown, one son Douglas Brown, one daughter Crystal Swain and a sister Lorianne Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 4:00pm at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel with Mary McClellan officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00pm until time of the service.

In Helen’s memory memorial contributions may be made to Outreach International or to the American Kidney Foundation.
