BURGESS, Helen Faris - age 96 of Flint Township, died March 23, 2024. Visitation will be held 12-8 PM Monday, April 1, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 where an incense service will be held at 7 PM Monday evening. The family will receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Tuesday at the church. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Rd., Flint. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will have a luncheon celebrating Helen at the Our Lady of Lebanon Church Hall, following burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Rd., Flint. Helen was born September 20, 1927, in Flint, the daughter of George and Mary (Checrallah) Faris. She was a 1944 graduate of All Saints High School. Helen married Ralph W. Burgess on November 27, 1954, in Flint and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2016. She had worked in the Buick Cafeteria for 10 years but spent most of her life caring for her family and home. She was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, American Lebanese Morning Star Society and the Altar Society at Our Lady of Lebanon. Surviving are: three children, George J. (Jackie) Burgess of Swartz Creek, Patrick E. (Jamie) Burgess of Grand Blanc, and Lori M. Burgess of Grand Blanc; daughter-in-law, Theresa Burgess; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, George and Mary Faris; husband, Ralph W. Burgess; son, Dr. Ralph W. Burgess; four brothers and a sister.
