Helen Dunham

Helen Irene Dunham of Flushing, Age 91, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Caretel Inns of Linden. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14 at St. Robert Bellarmine in Flushing at 11am with visitation preceding at the church starting at 10am. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Helen was born November 14, 1925 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Michael and Suzanne (Janic) Popovich. She married Harold Dolan in 1948 who preceded her in death in 1971. She married Elwood (Woody) Dunham in 1986 who preceded her in death in 2007. Helen retired from AC Spark Plug in 1980 as an executive secretary. She was a member of National Secretaries Association, Industrial Businesswomen's Group, Royal Quarter Club, Flint Elks Club #222, the Does, Flushing Book Club and McLaren Auxiliary. Left to remember her for her sparkly blue eyes, her beautiful smile and her distinctive laugh are brother, George Popovich and sister-in-law, Lora Popovich both of Fenton; nieces and nephews; stepdaughters Connie (Tom) Mutton of Surprise, AZ., Kathleen (Jack) Rothfuss of Bay City, Mi., Sandra Mercer (Karl, deceased) of Statesville, NC. and Diane (Kurt) Hartman of Bay City; step-grandchildren Sheila (Michael) Hutchings, Michael (Letty) Mutton, Russett (Catherine) Rothfuss, Matthew (Amanda) Rothfuss, Robert (Cheryl) Mercer, John (Serena) Mercer, Denise Mercer, Jeremy Allen, Jacob and Justin Jahr; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She will be missed by the Dunham cousins at their monthly lunches. She was preceded in death by brothers, Michael, John, and Andrew Popovich; sisters, Irene Popovich, MaryAnn Vaydik and Anna Klee.
