HOLCOMB, Helen Julia, -- Age 93, of Corunna, formerly of Montrose, died September 25, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday, September 29 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment at St John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Sunday. Visitation will be 9-10 AM Monday at the church prior to mass. Those desiring may make contributions to American Heart Association, Masses, or Catholic Charities. Helen was born May 7, 1921 in Saginaw County, the daughter of Albert and Marie (Kubina) Mracna. She married Robert Leo Holcomb on January 12, 1945 in Flint. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1997. Helen worked before and during WWII in AC and many years in the Montrose School cafeterias. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Maple Grove and attended St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella for 25 years. Helen was always involved with her family.Surviving are: 3 children, Patrick (Vicki) Holcomb of New Lothrop, Theresa (James) Love of Flint, Margaret (John) Pobocik of Lennon; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas (Rachel) Pobocik, Natalie (Julien) Boussontie', Nathaniel (Jennifer) Holcomb, Zachary Holcomb; 3 great -grandchildren, Joseph, Hunter and Luke.
