Helene Fern Czajka

CZAJKA, Helene Fern - Age 94, of Linden, passed away August 29, 2023. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 6 at Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 West Broad Street, Linden. Pastor Dawn Russell officiating. Interment at Ft. Custer National Cemetery near Battle Creek. Cremation arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Memorial Contributions in Helene's memory would be appreciated to The Linden Presbyterian Church. 

Helene was born February 15, 1929 in Detroit, the daughter of Lowell and Iva (Viers) Eastman. She married Edward Czajka at The Southfield Presbyterian Church on November 23, 1955. Helene graduated from Royal Oak High School and received a B.A. degree from Sterling College in Kansas. She was employed for many years as a Teacher with the Southfield Public Schools retiring in 1979. Helene was a member of The Linden Presbyterian Church and the Loose Senior Center in Linden. She was an accomplished quilter and seamstress. Helene enjoyed extensive traveling with her late husband, Edward.

Helene is survived by her sister, Mary Purdy; and brother, James (Elois) Eastman; and several nieces and nephews.

Helene was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, Edward in 1998; and her brothers, Willis and Frederick Eastman. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
