Helenmary Cunningham

Cunningham, HelenMary - Age 97, of Davison, died peacefully on September 12, 2022.

HelenMary was born September 20, 1924 in Wareham, Massachusetts, the daughter of Julius Clayton Cunningham and Helen Edna (Horne) Cunningham. She was a graduate of St. Matthews Catholic School in Flint, Class of 1942 and earned her Bachelors Degree at Nazareth College in 1946. She entered the Convent with the Sisters of St. Joseph in Nazareth, MI. HelenMary taught school at many different Catholic Schools in the Detroit area from 1952-1967. She served as the Principal of St. Agnes Catholic School in Flint from 1967-1968. She went on to earn her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois in 1970, then worked for Catholic Social Services and Childrens Home Society for many years. HelenMary is survived by her brother Michael Cunningham of Orlando, FL; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews; and many "Special" friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elsie Branwell, Frances Powers, Catherine "Katie" Fechik; brothers Joseph and Patrick Cunningham. Per her wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Services will be held on October 10, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI, 48423. Services will also be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend by logging in to https://stjohndavison.org/watch-mass-online/. Visitation will begin at 11:00am with the Memorial Mass following at 12:00pm, Rev. Andrew Czajkowski officiating.
