Hoo Nio LIM

LIM, Hoo Nio, age 76, of Grand Blanc, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Fr. Jonathan Perotta celebrant. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2013 from 1-4PM and 6-8PM at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. A vigil service will be held at 7:00PM Friday, February 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Mrs. Lim was born January 5, 1937 in Surabaya, Indonesia the daughter of the late Dr. Soen Ie Han and Kian Nio Tan. She married Tjin Lim on June 25, 1965 in Bandung, Indonesia. Mrs. Lim graduated from Airlangga University Medical School, Indonesia with her Doctorate in Medicine. In 1970, Dr. and Mrs. Lim moved to the United States where they raised their family. Mrs. Lim was also a skilled portrait artist. In addition, she enjoyed playing tennis and volunteering for the Grand Blanc chapter of Fish, Inc. Fish is a Christian non-profit organization that helps families in need in the Grand Blanc school district by providing food, clothing, and rides. She will always be remembered as a kind, gentle woman and loving Oma (Grandma), who always welcomed everyone in. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Dr. Tjin Lim; 4 children, Lanny Thompson, (Timothy) of New Jersey, Yenny Lim Casavan (Will) of California, Mey-Mey Lim (James Harrold) of Illinois, Stephen Lim (Ann) of New York; 6 grandchildren, Caroline, Christian and Ethan Thompson, Noah and Emmaline Lim, and Mika Casavan; sister, Kiong Nio Kwa; 4 brothers, Tjien Gwan Han, Poo Gwan Han, Ping Gwan Han, Kiem Gwan Han.
