Howard Cline

CLINE, Howard Dallas - age 86, of Grand Blanc, died July 21, 2020. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grand Blanc Educational Foundation. Howard was born August 4, 1933 in Flint, the son of Howard and Ila (Wood) Cline. He was a life-long resident of Grand Blanc. Howard was a 1951 graduate of Grand Blanc High School, 1955 graduate of the College of William & Mary, and a 1957 graduate of University of Colorado Law School. He served in the U.S. Army, obtaining the rank of captain, and was honorably discharged. During his time in the Army he served in the JAG Corps and, for a period of time, was stationed in Poitiers, France, where during his free time he would often take sojourns to his favorite city, Paris. Howard was a partner in Cline, Cline and Griffin in Flint. He was a member of the Michigan Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association and Genesee County Bar Association. Howard was a co-founder of First Security Bank (now 5/3 Bank) and served on the Board of Directors from 1974-1998, he was a Trustee of the Grand Blanc Educational Foundation and a Trustee of the Evergreen Cemetery Association. Howard loved traveling ever since his Army days. Through the years he had traveled all over Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and even Antarctica. Surviving are: two sons, John (Lynne) Cline of Gilbert, AZ and Jeffrey Cline (Jessica Osias) of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Abe and Meredith Cline; two extended family grandchildren Anna and Aidan Osias; sister, Norma Cline Smith of Riviera Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Cline. Arrangements entrusted to Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48507.
