BUTLER, Irene Louise - Age 74, of Lennon, died Friday, September 5, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 8, 2014 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2680 E. M 21, Corunna. Pastor Doug Levesque officiating. Burial in Yerian Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Monday from 10:00 AM Monday until the time of service. Those desiring may make Contributions to the Irene Louise Butler Memorial Fund. Irene was born April 24, 1940 in Flint, the daughter of Siegfried and Thelma (Rossell) Gomer. She married Doyle F. Butler July 5, 1984 in Paragould, AR. She retired from GM Chevrolet. She had resided in Lennon for the past 35 years coming from Flint. Irene was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Corunna. Irene is survived by: her husband, Doyle; 3 children, Kirk and wife Teresa Brown of Fenton, Terry and wife Denise Brown of Mt. Morris, and Dawn and husband Joel Compton of Macon, GA; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 4step children, Linda and husband Bob Ross of Flint, Doyle Butler of Flint, Sheila Carpenter of Flint, and Marsha and husband Brad Langley of Gaines; 4 step grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley and husband Don Brooks of Corunna and Susan and husband Dave Swartz of Clio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, George Brown; and brothers, Dale and Jim Gomer. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
