She was born in Detroit, MI on September 23, 1934 to John and Mary Brown (Bremer).
She married the love of her life, James D. Roan on October 29, 1955. She and Jim raised four children in Redford Township. Irene enjoyed socializing with neighbors and had frequent pinochle games and sewing circles with her friends. She and Jim relocated full-time to their summer home on Tipsico Lake in 1979 where she enjoyed entertaining and pontoon boat rides. Once it became too hard to maintain the lake property she and Jim moved to a smaller home in Fenton where once again she enjoyed the company of nearby neighbors. She was a hardworking caregiver to her husband for many years before he died in 2017.
Irene is survived by her four children Dan, Mary Barbour (George), Jim (Mary), and Carol (Jim Schewe), 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
