Jack Preston COOK

COOK, Jack Preston - age 82, of Burton, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his residence. Services will be held 1 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Rev. Greg Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Atherton United Methodist Church or Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle. Mr. Cook was born May 26, 1931 in Berea, KY, the son of Preston Baugh and Gertrude (Anglin) Cook. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Golden Glove Boxer. Mr. Cook retired from Buick. He was a motorcycle enthusiast since he was 12 years old and a jack of all trades. Mr. Cook was quite a jokester and he and his wife were members of a kitchen band that performed at Huckleberry Junction. Surviving are: wife Mary; daughter, Pamela Moss; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; special friend, Sandy Fick. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene (George) Cook in 2003; three sons, Denny, Paul and Mike Cook; two sisters, Marie Zeller and Edna Haver.
