Jackie Joy Shoops

Apr 7, 1951 — Aug 6, 2026

In loving memory of Jackie Joy Shoops, who graced this world with her presence on April 7, 1951, in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Jackie was a beacon of kindness and generosity, qualities that touched everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She peacefully departed this life on August 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Jackie was the beloved daughter of William and Joyce Jones, who preceded her in death, along with her brother Johnnie Jones. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, George Shoops, with whom she shared a beautiful life since their marriage on February 14, 1970. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful children, Scooter (Christine fiance) and Michael John in Flint Michigan before moving to the Phoenix area for her final years.

Jackie's life was further enriched by her grandchildren, Kaylan (Nick) Burkett, Kylar Shoops, Great Grandchildren Adalynn, Weston and Harper Burkett who brought immense joy to her heart. She adored spending time with them, cooking family dinners, and creating countless moments of happiness. Her home was a place where family gathered, stories were shared, and love was abundant.

Jackie is also survived by her sisters, Jill (Stewart) Pounds and Janice (Joe) Worley, as well as loving former daughter in-law Tonya Shoops who were her lifelong companions and confidantes. The bond they shared was unbreakable and filled with warmth and support.

A short service will take place on August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM officiated by Ron Hughey followed by a luncheon and celebration of life at Sister Jill's house. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her selfless spirit and unwavering kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Jackie's legacy of love and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind a world that is brighter because of her presence, and she will be deeply missed by all.
