BALLARD, James L. - Age 71, of Gaines, died November 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, November 29, 2013 at Gaines United Methodist Church, 117 Clinton St., Gaines. Pastor Eric Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Old Newsboys of Flint Christmas Program, 6255 Taylor Dr., Flint, MI 48507. Jim was born May 28, 1942 in Durand, the son of Philip and Lois (Dell) Ballard. He retired from Chevrolet Metal Fab. Jim loved the outdoors, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are: daughters, Shari (Marianne Barnett) Ballard, Barb (Joe) Harper; grandson, Ethan Harper; siblings, Deloris (Don) Leneschmidt, Jack (Judy) Ballard, Carole (Charles) Markley, Jerry (Elizabeth) Ballard, John (Linda) Ballard; several nieces and nephews.
