James Christopher BEHAN

BEHAN, James Christopher, age 87, of Linden, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint. Fr. Thomas Firestone celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1-4 and 6-8PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A rosary will be prayed at 7PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial Donations may be made to American Heart Association. James was born in Mishawaka, Indiana in 1925. He thoroughly enjoyed his years at St. Michael's, especially his high school days, graduating in 1943. From there, he joined the Navy, serving in the Philippines and the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He married Mary "Pat" Hathorn in 1951 in Flint, and she preceded him in death in 2008. James worked at Buick Engineering as an Electronic Instrumentation Engineer, retiring in 1977. Surviving are his sons, Michael (Michelle), Paul (Vicki), Dan (Talonna); daughters, Maryanne and Laura; eight grandchildren, Brett, Megan, Matthew, Katie, Kelly, Josh, Stephen and Jimmy; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hallie and Noah; brother, Robert; sister, Patricia Patton; and several nephews.
