BIGNALL, James Guy - Age 78, of Acadia, FL, formerly of Grand Blanc, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Funeral service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at from 4-8 PM Monday, July 14, 2025 and from 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2025. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan (www.fbem.org).
Jim Bignall was born August 7, 1946, in San Diego, California, the son of Charles I. and Donna M. (Christner) Bignall. He was a 1965 graduate of Grand Blanc High School and married Sharon M. Everhart on June 18, 1966, in Flint.
Jim had resided in Arcadia, Florida, for the past two years, having previously lived in Tawas City and Grand Blanc. He retired in 1999 from General Motors after 33 and a half years of service as a press operator. In addition to his long career, Jim spent over 40 years plowing snow, continuing until 2012.
Dedicated to serving his community, Jim was a volunteer firefighter with the Mundy Township Fire Department from 1977 to 1988 and again from 2001 to 2006. He was also a longtime member of the Rankin Lions Club for over 20 years and a charter member of the Arcadia Lions Club in Florida.
Jim had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed riding for more than four decades. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and commitment to his family were unwavering.
Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Sharon; daughter, Rene (Matt) Sherwood of Grand Blanc; son, Terry (Tammy) Bignall of Columbiaville; grandchildren, Brick (Allison) McMann, Donald (Mallory) McMann, Kayla (Brennan) Fortner and Cassandra (Aaron) Peltonen; sister, Janet Crandell of Grand Blanc; brother, Jerry (Joyce) Bignall, Sr. of Sebewaing; brother-in-law, Tim (Connie) Everhart' sister-in-law, Sandy (Jimbo) Mize and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends special thanks and recognition to the dear friends at Toby’s RV Park in Florida, who became like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Donna Bignall; brother-in-law, Herb Crandell. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
