James Brown

BROWN, James - Age 66, of Durand, died on January 13, 2015. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, January 20 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Monday and 12 PM until time of service Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, Vernon. Mr. Brown was born September 26, 1948 in Cottonplant, AR, the son of Nobel and Lula (Williams) Brown. He married Diane Williams on October 11, 1992 in Durand. He was a veteran of the US Marines. He retired from Argentine Care Center after 19 years of service. James was an artist and he enjoyed music of all kinds. He was an avid U of M fan and a devoted family man. He was known as "Papa" to Allie, Sam and Rett, known as the "OLD MAN" to Carolyn, Brandon and Jay, Mariah and Anthony. James also loved animals. He is survived by his wife, Diane; sons, Christopher (Teresa) Williams of King George, VA and Joshua (Melissa) Williams of Durand, MI; grandchildren, Allison, Samantha, Everett, Carolyn, Brandon, Joshua, Mariah, Anthony; brother, Noble Brown Jr.; sisters, Lena Brown, Helen Jackson.
