James "Jim" Leroy Corder

Corder, James Leroy "Jim" - Age 86, of Flint, passed away June 27, 2026. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with his son, Deacon Jim Corder officiating. A committal service will be held at 2:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery . Visitation will be held 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday and from 12:00 - 1:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home (the service will be live streamed on Jim 's obituary page ) . Jim was born November 21, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, the son of James L. and Gladys (Root) Corder. Jim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Jane Moore on April 6, 1963, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Jim owned and operated Corder Construction Company for 45 years, his motto was " The customer is always right ". His family was his greatest priority, he was a fierce protector of his wife, sisters,  children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed listening to country music. Surviving are: wife, Jane Corder; three children, Deacon Jim (Terri) Corder, Julie (Steven) Pobocik, and Jill (Jason) Melancon; seven grandchildren, Tim (Kyli) Corder, Jeff Corder, Tyler (Riley) Pobocik, Lindsey (Dom) Saigh, Makenna Pobocik, Ethan and Ella Melancon; seven great-grandchildren, Graison, Claire, Jameson, Lyla, Reyna, Roman, and Beau; three sisters, Carol Jones, Marilyn (Bill) Hart, and Connie (Brian) Williams; many nieces and nephews.
