James Cox

Cox, James Haydn - Age 72, of Grand Blanc, died December 25, 2016. No public services will be held at this time. It will be announced later. James was born September 14, 1944 in Pickering, Ontario, Canada, the son of James Herbert Cox and Viola (Reynolds) Cox. He married Carolynn A. Hays in 1962. He retired from General Motors in 1998. He enjoyed racing sailboats for 20 years. He was a member of the Lake Fenton Sailing Club and CRAMS. He also enjoyed being a member of the Grand Blanc Huntsmen Club, Flushing Gun Club and several car clubs. Surviving are: wife of 54 years, Carolynn; children James (Roberta) Cox of Grand Blanc, Michelle Cox of Clio; grandchildren, Jessica and Kara Hovis, Justin, Jordan, James, and Jacob Cox; 2 great-grandchildren, Jason and Kyler; sister Marcia (Don) Miller; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; daughter Karen; son, Jason; sisters, Betty Dragus and Carrie Lee; and brother Wilbert. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
