James, lovingly referred to as "Jimmy D",  was born on February 11, 1956, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Francis N. and Rhea (DeCou) DeSantis. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and went on to have a fulfilling career as a master mechanic, which he recently retired from. Jimmy truly had an amazing gift to be able to fix anything. An enthusiast of hockey since childhood, or "the coolest game on ice" as he liked to call it, he loved to play goalie for various teams over the years. When he wasn't playing hockey, he was watching it and loved the Red Wings. Jim also had a love for the water and going up north, target shooting and sporting clays. His other interests extended to classic cars and attending car shows, reflecting his appreciation for quality craftsmanship and nostalgia.

Above all, Jim cherished his role as a devoted father and family man. James' presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and his memory forever cherished in the hearts of those he touched.

James is survived by his two daughters, Rachel DeSantis and Christina DeSantis; his mother, Rhea DeSantis; siblings, Michael DeSantis, Marianne (Steve) Evans. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis N. DeSantis.
