James Kerrick ESTES Sr.

ESTES, James Kerrick Sr. - Age 85, of Flint Township, went home to be with his Savior on July 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, July 9 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Larry Rednower officiating. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery . Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Monday . Those desiring may make contributions to the James K. Estes Sr. Memorial Fund. James was born October 20, 1927 in Flint the son of Harrison and Winnie Estes. He married Billie Sue Malone on February 26, 2000 in Flushing. James served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. He was a retired Flint Township Firefighter. He played Santa at the mall. He collected for "Smiletrain." He was a member and served as an usher at New Haven Baptist Church. He enjoyed drawing and was an avid gardener. Surviving are: wife Billie Sue Estes; son James Kerrick (Kathy) Estes Jr.; daughter, Debra (Jonathan) Barnes; step-daughters Anita (Leonard) Gladding, Dawn Gross, Michelle Adams; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha (Don) Kinder, Shirley Hawk; brothers, Donald (Marilin) Estes, Wayne (Judy) Estes; many nieces and nephews.
