GAVIN, James Robert (Jim) - Age 85, entered his heavenly rest on Sunday, May 25, 2025. He died peacefully, after years of declining health. Jim was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jim was born on August 16, 1939 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, son of the late John Arnold and Margaret Alberta Gavin. Jim graduated from the University of Maryland in 1961. He worked for General Motors, retiring after thirty-two years of service as a plant manager at GM Service Parts Operations in 2000. He was an avid golfer, master diver and a life master bridge player. His enjoyment in his retirement was teaching bridge, diving and cruising. A Celebration of Life is planned for Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Spring Meadows Country Club, 1129 Ripley Rd., Linden, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife Millie Gavin; children, Julie Montague (Larry), Kelly Farrah (Jeff), Patrick Gavin (Yoshie), Timothy Gavin (Katherine) and Jennifer Argonis; grandchildren, Jessica Montague, Jamie Montague, Sean Farrah, Chloe Farrah, Natsu Gavin, H. James Gavin, Kazu Gavin, Sakura Gavin, Jenna Gavin, Hailey Argonis and Connor Argonis; sister, Patricia Dunne of Franklin, MA and brother, Michael Gavin (Toni) of Custer, SD; brother-in-law, Jon Friedl; sister-in-law, Sally Wendzik; nephew, Brian Wendzik (Sheryl) and nieces, Lori Jankowski and Shari Herzberg (Joey). He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Gavin, brother John Gavin and sister Roberta McQuilkin.
