James Hawk, 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Fenton, Michigan, on May 27, 2026. He was born on December 12, 1964, and built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and deep care for the people he loved.
Over a long career in manufacturing, James served as a supervisor who believed in people over profits and treated every person as more than a production number. He earned the respect of those around him by listening, standing up for his team, and leading with fairness and genuine care.
At home, James was a devoted husband to his wife, Tracy, and a proud father to his daughter, Dannielle, and his son, Austin, as well as a loving grandfather to Landon and Ensley, and a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews. He also shared a special bond with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who were constant sources of laughter, support, and companionship in his life. He showed his love in everyday ways—through support, quiet encouragement, and countless meals cooked with the kind of skill that made everyone else’s food taste like a backup option.
James was a loyal sports fan who rarely missed a chance to tune into The Pat McAfee Show, and he never shied away from sharing his love of Rock N’ Roll with anyone within earshot of his beloved sound system. He also had a playful, competitive streak that came out anytime there was a game on the table. Whether it was air hockey at the arcade or a long game of Risk around the kitchen table, James was always ready to compete and have a good time doing it.
James appreciated a life lived on one’s own terms, something reflected in his love for Elvis Presley’s powerful cover of “My Way,” a song about looking back with honesty and pride. That same spirit—doing things his way, with quiet determination—shaped the way he worked, loved, and showed up for his family.
In accordance with his and his family’s wishes, services will be private, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. James will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him, especially his family and close friends.
The family would like to thank McLaren Hospice and family friend Dana Hall for their care of James.
