Mr. James P. “Jim” Ford, age 81, of Linden passed away September 30, 2026. The family will celebrate his life privately. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden.

Jim was born November 8, 1944 in Hightstown, NJ to the late Mr. James J. Ford, Jr. and Kathryn (Keller) Ford. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he pursued higher education and earned his Master's degree from Rutgers University, a testament to his lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.

IIn 1974, Jim married the love of his life, Patricia Payne. Together, Jim and Pat shared 52 wonderful years filled with love, friendship, adventure, and unwavering devotion. They enjoyed many activities together, including wheelchair road racing, fishing, camping, and traveling. Both were avid readers who shared a deep appreciation for books.

Jim dedicated his professional life to helping others. He retired from Michigan Rehabilitation Services, where he worked tirelessly to support and empower individuals with disabilities. His compassion, dedication, and commitment to service made a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Jim is survived by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Robichaud, Suzanne Payne, Catherine Payne, Sara and Lou Scholl, and Joe Payne Jr.; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Jeanne Ford and his beloved wife, Patricia on September 9, 2026.
