James Estel Lair

Lair, James Estel - Age 76, of Burton, passed away April 29, 2026 at his residence. Services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc, Michigan 48507.

James was born August 7, 1949 in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Estel R. and Izora Pauline (Sallee) Lair. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School. James served our country in The United States Marine Corps. He worked for General Motors retiring in 2008 with 42 years of service. James married Pamela J. Sinnott on December 12, 2014. He was a member of the U.A.W. He loved classic cars and his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed attending Back to the Bricks. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events.

James is survived by his wife, Pamela; step-children, Heather (Jamie) Kennedy, Angela Kennedy, and Christopher (Jen) Kennedy; several grandchildren; sisters, Patty Ann Turner, Linda Williams; brother, Donald Lair; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Janie, Ruby, Cathy, and Della.
